ABOUT GIVE BACK’S GIVE BACK’S 2010 GRANTEE PARTNERS STOP CHILD ABUSE NOW (SCAN) OF NORTHERN VIRGINIA Stop Child Abuse Now (SCAN) of Northern Virginia promotes the well-being of children, improves parent-child relations and prevents child abuse and neglect. SCAN educates the community about the scope, nature and consequences of child abuse and neglect and the importance of positive, nurturing parenting; provides direct parent education; and advocates for children in the community, the legislature and the courts.
THE READING CONNECTION The Reading Connection (TRC) is dedicated to improving the lives of at-risk children and families by helping them create and sustain literacy-rich environments and motivation for reading. TRC conducts literacy programs in Alexandria-based shelters and nonprofits and provides reading activities and books to children and parents. |
